Festival of Quilts
We had an exciting (and busy!) time at the Festival of Quilts in the UK. It was such a joy to reconnect with old friends—including the incredible Kaffe Fassett—as we celebrated the launch of his exclusive Oliso irons in the UK.

two centuries of craft and creativity

QT Fabrics, formerly Cranston Print Works, is the oldest textile printer in the USA. Founded in 1807, Cranston Print Works opened its doors at the very dawn of the Industrial Revolution. What started with etched copper rollers and rotary screens has carried through centuries of innovation—from flatbed screens to today's cutting-edge digital printing. Through every era, QT Fabrics has remained committed to the artistry of textiles and the makers who bring them to life.
One of the most meaningful parts of QT's journey comes from the requests they receive: reprints of beloved vintage craft panels created decades ago. For many families, these fabrics are more than material—they're touchstones of memory, stitched by mothers and grandmothers, and now reimagined as keepsakes for children and grandchildren. For the QT team, fulfilling these requests is a reminder of how deeply their work connects to people's lives.

On May 23, 2009, QT Fabrics marked an important milestone by printing its iconic design, 1274 Waving Flag, one final time in the United States. To honor the generations of employees and unions who had shaped their history, the fabric's selvedge carried their names—a tribute to those who made the journey possible. Each employee received a piece of the print, a symbol of pride and a new chapter on the horizon.
Today, QT Fabrics continues to expand its collections, build meaningful collaborations, and serve a vibrant community of makers, quilters, and independent quilt shops across the country. Inspired by those who sew, quilt, and create, QT's mission is simple yet powerful: to brighten the world, one stitch at a time.
Here's to the next chapter in QT Fabrics' story—and to the makers who keep it alive.
