Here's a tip from Cornelius: One of the most useful shapes in pattern drafting is the wedge. The wedge is most often done in the form of a dart. A dart can be used to round out an area. For example, at the waist of a pair of pants, in the back, it helps to round out the fabric around our butts. It's used for shaping the bust.
