A letter from Ashley,

My name is Ashley Saville and I am the founder and sewist behind my passion project, ANEMONE.

My sewing journey started right around 30 years ago when my mom taught me to make pillowcases on my grandmother’s vintage Singer, and I’ve never looked back!

My father owned a bed & breakfast in Southern Vermont for 20 years, so I have long had admiration and love for old things – we could often be found at auctions, estate sales, and thrift shops in search of pieces to fill our home, and we were always finding new ways to use what we had on hand - from cutting up old towels to use as cleaning rags, to sewing old sheets into curtains for the guest rooms.

Creating wearable pieces from antique and vintage textiles (predominantly quilts and wool blankets) quickly became my full-time job, and I feel so fortunate to have built a kind and supportive community around my work and what I do - largely comprised of fellow sewists, quilters and crafters, antique and vintage collectors, and folks who prioritize supporting small businesses and slow and sustainable fashion. It is my hope that the work I do inspires others to consider what they already own and find ways to give new life to those things and build on their history.

The best way to follow my work is via my Instagram: @anemone.vt and my website:
