Summer is always a busy time, filled with soccer games, picnics, camping trips, and days at the beach. To make the most of these activities, I love to have a few hand stitching or EPP projects ready to grab on the go. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some fun podcasts, like Brandy Maslowski's Quilter on Fire Podcast, while stitching away.

Summer Fun Project

Here’s a fun summer project, Kristina Brinkerhoff’s Cheetos Zipper Pouch. It’s perfect for keeping those small easily lost items safe on a picnic or at the beach.

Kristina Brinkerhoff, @centerstreetquilts, started quilting as a teenager with her mom. Her love of math led her to design her own quilts and bags, and she founded Center Street Quilts. The company offers pouch patterns, traditionally pieced quilt patterns, and foundation paper pieced block patterns. When not sewing, Kristina enjoys time with her husband and four kids, organizing her home, or napping.

We recently had a blast joining our talented friend Sarah Thomas (@sariditty) on a fun book review tour on Instagram. Alongside a bunch of other amazing creators and companies, we got to dive into Sarah’s first book, Rainbow Quilt Color Method. Published by Landauer and available this July, the book is packed with vibrant quilt patterns in a stunning rainbow palette.
